HOW THE PRACTITIONERS AND FILM ACTIVISTS AFFORD TO SURVIVAL IN THIS FIELD IN SARAWAK.

When we talk about film activists and films activities in Sarawak, certainly many do not know,and many disparage. Why not, cos all those practitioners and producers are based in Kuala Lumpur.

Since the sixties, wellknown films director like Tan Sri P.Ramlee, Jamil Sulong, Omar Rojik, then well established films Director and Producer, Datuk Yusof Haslam, A.Razak mohideen, Aziz M.Osman, Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba, Afdlin and more, all are based in Peninsular Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

Entertainment media, that every moment searching and displaying their stories also based in Peninsular Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

Any in Sarawak? If there is any media such as newspapers, local newspaper, local radio broadcasts, mostly, (Not All) will promote, their own favoritism, especially those with their own particular interest.

Thus, as a practitioner and film producers in this State, to survive, we have to do some things that we can use as a platform to sit long in the world of film. I mean can someone survive long to make work in the film industry, as a livelihood, living our lives.

1. We have to built up own NAME in this industry. Whether as a Films Producers, Actors Actresses, or as an employee working behind screen. It aims to established and recognize ourself in this industry.

2. Learn from a veteran of us, about the areas that we serve. Whether as actors, publishers and workers behind the scenes. If the employee behind the scenes, many other areas to be studied, because each area has specific tasks and their borders.

3. Registered our name as a member of any organizations or associations such as Profima, FDAM, Seniman, CCIG, Karyawan and many more.

4. Learning from mistakes. Because as a practitioner and a film producer, a world full of glamor, involvement at an early stage, definitely fun to be famous, to be glamorous, admission, everyone knows. And this sometimes causes us to fall, because overlooked many things, so friends, and community film that will disgust, hate and boycott us. Therefore, make this FAILURE, be a lesson, to form our own, to be more careful and carry out work in this film with more honesty, sincere and trustful.

5. Build a way to work with sincerity, honesty and trust, the tasks that have been entrusted, according to the capabilities we have. Do not try to cope on our own abilities, until finally, the works uncompleted, our name scratched. Let us be sober, to do what we can do.

It was a few things that need to be taken into account, especially to those Practioners or films activies, who are new to this world. And this is also my personal view, after going through my own experiences, so that we can survive to the present, until now, this is my 28-years involvements (2015) make a living in the industry which is less prominent in Sarawak. But I trust and believe, how great this industry in Kuala Lumpur at one point, it will be definitely happen here later or sooner. Our country is not on the skids, but continue to build and demanding things like this.

In addition, we must remember, everyone has the privilege and weaknesses. Use the privilege with the best benefits and fix the weakness to be the best.
